Frequently asked questions

Is the free Minecraft server really free?

Yes - the free plan needs no card and runs a real server with limited panel access and file access. It pauses after 6 idle hours with nobody online; one click starts it right back up, with no queue. Paid plans unlock the full Pterodactyl panel.

What's the catch?

The free plan gives you up to 2 modest servers - one online at a time - that pause when idle. That's it, and no ads anywhere. Paid plans fund it: they add RAM, automatic backups, one-click modpacks, more servers online at once, and servers that never sleep.

Why do you bill every three months instead of monthly?

To keep your price low. Card processors charge a fee on every transaction, so billing once a quarter instead of monthly means fewer fees - and we pass that saving straight on to you.

Can I have more than one server?

Yes. Create up to 2 servers on the free plan, or up to 10 on paid plans - a survival world, a creative build, and a modpack can all sit on your account at once. How many run at the same time is set by your plan (one on Free and Pro, 2 on Max); to switch, just stop one and start another. Your worlds are kept whether a server is online or not.

Can I run mods and plugins?

Yes. Paper runs Bukkit/Spigot plugins on any plan, Forge runs your own pick of mods, and paid plans add one-click modpacks that install themselves.

How do my friends join?

Send them the address from your dashboard - they connect with the normal Minecraft: Java Edition client, nothing to install. We don't cap player slots; plans are sized by RAM and disk.

Can I try it before signing up?

Yes - launch a live demo server straight from this page, no account or card. If you like it, claim it onto a free account and the world comes with it.

Can I bring an existing world?

Yes. Connect to your server over SFTP (included on every plan) and upload your world folder - big worlds are no problem over SFTP.

Paid plans are billed quarterly, in USD. Cancel anytime before your renewal date.
