How does Java and Bedrock crossplay work?
Minecraft Java Edition and Bedrock Edition use different network protocols. Geyser translates Bedrock connections into traffic a Paper server can understand, so both editions can play in the same world without replacing the Java server.
Floodgate lets authenticated Bedrock players join without also owning or signing into a Java Edition account. Crafty Servers installs both official plugins, configures a public UDP listener, and shows the Bedrock address in Server settings.

Which address do Bedrock players use?
Open Server settings after setup. Bedrock players enter the displayed hostname and UDP port; Java players keep using the normal Java address.
Can I enable Bedrock on an existing Paper server?
Yes. Open the existing Paper server's Settings page and press Enable Bedrock. If it is online, it restarts after the plugins and port are configured.
Do all Java plugins work for Bedrock players?
Many Paper plugins work normally, but plugins with Java-specific menus, custom items, or protocol behavior can require extra testing with a Bedrock client.
