Your own Rust world
Rust brings resource gathering, base building and player-versus-player survival into a shared world. A dedicated server keeps that world independent of any player's game client.
Our preset installs the official PC dedicated server through SteamCMD without asking for your Steam password. It starts with a 3000-size procedural map and vanilla gameplay.
Why host Rust with Crafty Servers?
One-click installation
Choose Rust and an eligible RAM size. The game and server-query ports are assigned automatically.
Your world and settings
Use console, file manager and SFTP access to manage your server name, map seed and saved world.
Private administration
Each new server receives its own randomly generated RCON password.
Room to grow
Start with at least 12 GB RAM. Larger maps and busy servers can need more memory.
Frequently asked questions
How much RAM does a Rust server need?
Choose at least 12 GB RAM. Our default uses a 3000-size procedural map; larger worlds and more players increase resource use.
How do players join?
Use the PC Steam edition of Rust. Press F1 in the game and enter connect followed by the address and port shown on your dashboard. Rust Console Edition cannot join this PC server.
Does the preset include mods or Rust+?
The preset runs vanilla Rust. Rust+ companion-app access is disabled. Console and file access are available for server administration.
Will this change my existing server?
This option creates a new Rust server. It does not convert another game server, transfer worlds or wipe existing servers. Rust updates may require world wipes; keep backups before updating.
