Frequently asked questions
What is PocketSMP?
PocketSMP is the official modpack for the Cobblemon PocketSMP, built on Fabric for Minecraft 1.21.1. It is a creature-collector SMP: you and your friends catch, train and battle Cobblemon creatures in a shared world, with around 190 quality-of-life and adventure mods layered on top to make the day-to-day of a long-running server smoother.
Pack releases and client downloads
- The installer uses the publisher's configured release. An exact release is not yet published here; confirm the version before ordering.
Minecraft and loader versions are bundled with each pack release. Use the same pack release on every client. Listed release IDs are installer options; they do not guarantee that every historical release will start successfully.
How much RAM do I need for PocketSMP?
PocketSMP needs at least 6 GB of RAM, so it runs on the paid sizes - the size list on this page shows which ones qualify and what they cost.
What do my players need to join?
PocketSMP is a Modrinth pack, so players install it from Modrinth - the Modrinth App, or any launcher that imports an .mrpack such as Prism Launcher - then connect with your server address. The pinned pack version on the server matches what they install.
Do we catch and battle creatures on this server?
Yes. PocketSMP is built around the Cobblemon mod, so catching, training and battling creatures happens right on the server, in the same shared world your friends play in.
Can I switch my server to a different modpack later?
Yes. Open Server settings on the dashboard and choose Rebuild server. Switching permanently deletes every world, file, mod, configuration, and backup on that server; the rebuild costs $0 when its RAM tier stays the same, and its billing cycle and server address do not change.
