Forge Minecraft server hosting
The classic mod loader, hosted. Run your own picks of Forge mods - start free for light modding, or grab more RAM for the big packs.
Plans that run Forge
What is Forge?
Forge is the longest-running Minecraft mod loader - the platform behind most of the famous mods and modpacks of the last decade. A Forge server lets you run server-side mods and build exactly the modded experience you want, one mod at a time.
Unlike plugins, most Forge mods need to be installed on the players' clients too (matching versions). That's the trade-off for mods that add entirely new blocks, machines, and dimensions.
Why host Forge with Crafty Servers?
Install any mod
Full file access via the web file manager or SFTP - drop mods into the mods folder and restart.
Starts on the free plan
Forge itself runs in the free tier's RAM - enough for a handful of light mods.
Room to grow
Heavier mod lists and full modpacks want 4 GB+ - upgrade in place, your world stays put.
Or skip the setup entirely
Prefer a ready-made pack? Our one-click modpack types (like Tekkit) install themselves.
Frequently asked questions
Can I run Forge on the free plan?
Yes - Forge itself starts fine on the free tier, which suits a few light mods. Most large mod lists and modpacks need 4 GB of RAM or more to run well, which is what the paid plans are for.
How do I install mods?
Open the file manager (or SFTP) from your panel, upload the mod .jar files into the mods folder, and restart the server.
Do players need the mods too?
For most Forge mods, yes - players install the same mods (matching versions) in their own launcher to join.
Can you host a specific modpack for me?
We offer one-click modpacks - Tekkit Classic and Tekkit 2 - that install themselves. For anything else, a Forge server plus SFTP access lets you install the pack's server files yourself.
